First, I am running way behind around here. The dearth of posts has to do with fun holiday activities and a few recent trips. That to say, I wish I had posted this a week and a half ago. I was home in Roseburg, Oregon, visiting my parents for the holidays, and noted that the Roseburg [...] HUD-funded Rural Oregon Continuum of Care programs took a huge cut in funding in the recently announced 2007 CoC awards, dropping to $552,600 for the July 2008-June 2009 funding period [link to spreadsheet containing totals for state], compared to the current funding level of $1,473,673. At the same time, funding for homeless programs in urban [...] The McKinney-Vento Act, which provides funding for a variety of homeless programs, is currently up for reauthorization for 2008.
